Dowsing Compass
“Sympathetic device that tracks a person by their hair”
Description§
A dowsing compass, or finder, is a device of sympathy used to locate a specific person. Supplied with a piece of that person's hair, the compass points toward whoever the hair came from, allowing the wielder to follow a target without needing a name, description, or disguise. It works poorly in darkness and can be difficult to read in crowds, and a skilled target can confuse it by scattering hair and blood as decoys.
