Description§

Alleg is the leader of a band of men masquerading as an Edema Ruh troupe, whom Kvothe encounters and destroys near Levinshir in The Wise Man's Fear. The false troupe had abducted two girls, including the mayor's daughter, whom Kvothe rescues. He recognizes the troupe as fraudulent because they failed to conceal their campfire, where genuine Edema Ruh burn smokeless wood and stay hidden, and because Alleg admitted to stealing beer from Levinshir. Cloaked in his shaed, Kvothe approaches the camp unseen and overhears them before revealing himself. Alleg claims he traveled as a guard with a genuine Edema couple and their players for half a year and was eventually taken in by them, and that the real players were killed when they were attacked on the road. Kvothe gives Alleg a mortal belly wound, brands him with the broken circle, and leaves him his own waterskin so that he will have a long and painful journey to the grave.
