Greystones
“Ancient standing stones marking old roads”
Appearance§
Large grey standing stones, sometimes single, sometimes stacked or set together to form gates or arranged in circles, found along old roads.
Description§
Greystones are great ancient standing stones found throughout Temerant, often beside old roads and frequently arranged in gates or circles. Where several are stacked or set together to form a gate, they can serve as a passage into the Fae; Kvothe leaves Felurian's realm through such a greystone gate. Old custom and folk wisdom attach a wary reverence to them, and they appear in the country around Trebon and in places such as Faeriniel.
