He appears chiefly in the disciplinary proceedings of Kvothe's early studies, counted among the nine masters present at the 'horns' proceedings in The Name of the Wind. When the masters vote on whether to suspend the discipline for Kvothe's first whipping, Brandeur keeps his hand down, voting against suspension, alongside Mandrag, Lorren, and Hemme, while Elxa Dal, Kilvin, Arwyl, and the Chancellor vote to suspend. He is a minor figure who surfaces mostly in the context of proceedings involving other masters.
