A Unified Creation War Timeline Stitched From In-World Stories
Combining tales from Skarpi, Felurian, Shehyn, Hespe and others into a single coherent Creation War chronology.
About: The Creation War
Also involves: Aleph, Selitos, Iax, Myr Tariniel, Shaping, Naming, The Fae, The Moon, The Cthaeh, Lyra, Arliden's Lanre Song, Felurian, Shehyn, Skarpi, Ergen Empire, Knowers
The theory§
This theory assembles a single coherent chronology of Temerant's mythic history by cross-referencing the world's in-story tellers — Skarpi, Felurian, Shehyn, Hespe, Trapis, Penthe, Cinder, and others — and reconciling their fragments into one narrative of the Creation War. It begins with Aleph spinning the world from the nameless void and giving everything a name, then the rise of the Knowers: long-lived, naturally magical singers and name-knowers who reproduce without fathers and build the Ergen Empire of proud cities. Against them rise the Shapers, who see a thing and wish to change it, make the Fae realm, and each wright a star to fill its empty sky. The chronology argues Selitos manipulated Iax into shaping the Fae and stealing the moon — the act, prompted by the Cthaeh, that ignited the war — and maps later beats (the Blac of Drossen Tor, the fall of Myr Tariniel, Lanre's betrayal) onto specific source quotes, threading Ademre, Edema Ruh, Lackless, and Tehlin material into the same loom.
Evidence§
Combining a TON of sources of information to try to make sense of the Creation War events.
OP states the method: stitch in-world tellers into one timeline. — u/chainsawx72In the beginning, as far as I know, the world was spun out of the nameless void by Aleph, who gave everything a name.
Starting point of the chronology: Aleph names the world. — u/chainsawx72long before the cities of man. before men. before fae. there were... old name-knowers... … there were never any human amyr
Knowers predate men and fae; supports the Knower-first ordering. — u/chainsawx72Belen, Antus, Vaeret, Tinusa, Emlen, and the twin cities of Murilla and … Murella … Last was Myr Tariniel... hundreds of proud cities scattered through the empire... called Ergen
Skarpi names the Ergen cities; Myr Tariniel as capital. — u/chainsawx72then came those who saw a thing and thought.. … of mastery. they were shapers. proud dreamers... the old knowers realized no talk would ever stop the shapers.
Shapers arise against the Knowers, setting up the conflict. — u/chainsawx72Iax spoke to the Cthaeh before he stole the moon, and that sparked the entire creation war
Core trigger: Iax steals the moon, igniting the war. — u/chainsawx72at Drossen Tor there was the largest and most terrible battle of this large and terrible war.
Final major battle of the war, per Skarpi. — u/chainsawx72Day 9: Cinder and Lanre take Myr Tariniel and bind Selitos.
Identifies Selitos as the Cthaeh via Cinder's bad turn. — u/chainsawx72How exactly is one supposed to draw a connection there? Can you elaborate on this a little?
CounterCounter: the Hespe tinker link to Shapers is unsupported. — u/HarmlessSnackThen why did the chandrians attack Kvothe's troupe? And why was Cinder such an asshole towards Kvothe?
CounterCounter: Chandrian-as-good-guys clashes with their attack on Kvothe. — u/mEtil56

Tier reasoning§
no change; each beat is anchored to a source quote, plausible fits; distinct synthesis from the Greystone-Road timeline
